Thank you for sharing the translation of Dr. Alaa Al Aswany's article. I enjoyed the reasoning and examples used here.
I live in Hawaii and we have a great diversity of people of many faiths. We even have Egyptians here!
As a Baha'i, I have found myself defending Islam many times and I do not remain silent when people (no doubt stirred by the extremist attacks in the US and the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan) equate "all" Muslims as terrorists.
So it is quite ironic that while we are defending His Holiness Muhammad amongst our own countrymen, some who claim to be His followers are persecuting Baha'is in their own countries.

Some day, the veil of prejudice and ignorance shall be lifted universally and we shall live as one diverse family on this planet.

This is indeed a gift from God that Muslims arise to defend Baha'is. I agree with Diego. Every man who listens to Moses listens to God, every man who listens to Jesus listens to God, every man who listens to Muhammad listens to God, and now, every man who listens to Baha'u'llah as the Lord of the Age, listens to God.

Allah'u'abha and Allah'u'akbar to all my brothers and sisters God.
Lorenzo, Italian American Bahá’í

Bahá'ís are NOT apostates. The English word 'apostate' and the Arabic word 'murtad' etymologically both mean 'one who look backwards (in religion)', but everyone who becomes a Bahá'í makes a step forward, NOT backward, at the same way that a Christian that decides to become a Muslim.
In any case, everyone should have the right to decide how to worship God: we are all part of the same human family as godly creatures.
