And now, Iranian state media has stooped to a very low level, attempting to smear Ebadi’s efforts through claiming her daughter converted to the Baha’i faith almost a year ago. The implications of such an accusation are dire; conversion from Islam is a crime that is punishable by death.
We at the Muslim Network for Baha’i Rights applaud Ms. Ebadi’s courage and willingness to stand up for her fellow citizens. Fear and distrust of the Baha’i minority is entrenched in Iranian society – an aftermath of decades of villification. We hope that Ms. Ebadi’s efforts will signal a new beginning in Iran, and allow more and more Muslims to voice their sympathy and concern for their Baha’i brothers and sisters.

It’s amazing they treat the Baha’is the way they hated to be treated by others. They Baha’s respect all religion and the whole world knows that. And they know we are not involve in politics. How can they do that……and say JUSTICE!…How Can….Go and look at yourselves in the mirror….finetic clergys….Thank you so much Ms. Shirin Ebadi. You don’t know how much we appreciate that there is a Muslim Woman who is truely willing to stand up against these uneducated violent people so simple people can have they basic right, the right which each individual human being should have.
I fully support your braveness

Dear friend; Remember we are all equal. some of us don’t have the privilage to understand beyond the past and present and some do. There is not “they” and “we”, it is only “us”. Some don’t understand and some do. It is only us and as a human, all of us are in this as one. So let’s not segregate. Let’s just hope the justice prevail and every one can be heard, even Ms. Ebadi.

Dear Mrs. Ebadi, The betterment of our world is being accomplished through education. You are setting the example and raising the standard for a wast number of people who need to reevaluate their role and their commitment. Be assured that your effort will bear sweet fruits for humanity. It is in our destiny to turn this world of dust to resemble the heaven of God. We will then enjoy what we have accomplished and God will be pleased to see that indeed He has created us in His image and after His likeness. You are in my prayers.

Dear Ms. Ebadi:
Your courage in the face of possible adversity has encouraged all of us to stand and be heard for our fellow brothers and sisters. You are an example we all need to follow. We are “One Man and One Country.” Even though we are different in some aspects you have proved we are to be respected for these. We are truly one family under our God. Thank you.

You know, it amazes me, it keeps mentioning that “conversion from Islam is punishable by death.” But last I checked that was apostasy, denial of Islam after having previously espoused belief in it, that was apostasy.
Now as a Baha’i I can say right now, I testify that there is no god but God and Muhammad is His Messenger. I testify that the Quran is a Holy Book, and that I believe in God and the Last Day. Indeed, our entire faith is based upon these beliefs! How is it that any Baha’i is charged with apostasy when all we believe are that God has fulfilled His promises?
May the blessings of God be upon Ms. Ebadi, and all Muslims who have sought justice for the downtrodden! Allah-u-Akbar!

in the words of bahaullah “ye are the fruits of one tree and the flowers of one garden….. the earth is but one country and mankind its citizens”.
Indeed no divine religion is there but that its core intension has been to promote that which was mentioned above. Wether Muslim, bahai, christian, buddihst or zoarostrian one may may be, should he revert back to the source of his admiration he will surely find the same essence for the prerequisite of divinity is essential unity. This is the message of the bahai faith and establishment of everlasting universal justice, peace equality and unity is its goal. Thus it behooves all men regardless of what creed, race or religion they belong to to persue that which will profit mankind as a whole and contributes to the betterment of the world. Blessed are the ones that actively strive towards the betterment of the world.
As to the unfolding events in iran and the wrong doings of those in power, one must never relate such acts to Islam rather to the ambitions of the ambitious ones, for holy islam is sanctified from all ungodly acts manifested by those who confess believe therein but fail to act in accordance.

Many Bahais who were persecuted in Iran during the intense and frightening era of the 80s fondly remember countless numbers of Muslim friends and even strangers who selflessly put themselves at risk to peacefully defend Bahais. My family was severely persecuted and their Muslim friends (some who were very devout and some who were strong supporters of the Revolution) came to my familiy’s aid and put their own lives at risk. These wonderful souls are always in our thoughts and prayers.
