Yes, R.A., you are right that there is willful deceit and manipulation here. In a sense, I was being charitable in characterizing this as ignorance. Baha'u'llah wrote in one of His Tablets of the clerics: "From them mischief hath proceeded, and on them will it recoil."

This is not a display of ignorance, but outright deceit and willful manipulation of Baha'i text. The Islamic clergy have always had access to the Baha'i holy writings and are well informed about its laws and spiritual teachings. Half truths are a devious and not easily detectable means of manipulating the ignorant masses.

The ignorance displayed is in the assumption that no one is observing these acts of depravity and that such tyrranical authority can only move towards an end. There has been no criminal act left uncomitted by these people, including the very same accusations they are so confidently voicing.

Dear Friends,
Clearly those sad individuals are ignorant, not only of the Glory of God, but of what is good for them. In this poster they mix what is true with what is false, presumably a conscious act. If they reflect on the true laws that Baha'u'llah gave the world they would surely realise that it would save them from their sad state. The most unfortunate reality is that by doing this they are not challenging the Baha'is in Iran, or anywhere in the world... they are challenging God who created them. They need our prayer, not our anger. May God, the ALL Glorious, Guide them in His true path.

Unfortunately for the ones publishing such a poster, this clearly exposes them as either ignorant or as people who wilfully distort the truth. Statements such as "one does not require the consent of ones' parents for marriage" is obviously untrue.

One can therefore say that these authorities have little credibility when they publish *any* document/opinion/poster and this poster is a clear demonstration that their statements about any issue cannot be fully trusted, even on simple, clear issues.

One sees here the tremendous ignorance of supposedly educated clerics. This is a mixture of truths and complete fabrication. That Baha'is have different places for pilgrimage, different rites for pilgrimage, a different calendar, different obligatory prayers, different age of maturity, and different ablution regulations, is to be expected. After all, the Baha'i Faith is not Islam, but a new revelation. The Prophet Muhammad changed the Qiblah from Jerusalem to Mecca. Should that have been a reason to reject the holy Prophet? By this logic, Christianity and Judaism must also be condemned as having requirements for these things that are also different from Islam.

But parental consent IS required for marriage (no matter one's age). A Baha'i may not marry his close relatives (the brief statement in the Kitab-i-Aqdas is a direct reference to the passages in the Qur'an in which prohibited marital relations with specific categories of relatives are laid out); likewise in many other places, Baha'u'llah specifically sets out proper behavior that is very strict about chastity, faithfulness, and avoidance of fornication and other sins. No Baha'i thinks that urine and refuse are a mark of hygienic cleanliness. The Baha'i view is that these things are not RITUALLY unclean, that is, if some urine or semen or dirt has gotten on one's clothes without one's knowledge, this does not nullify one's prayer.

This broadside is representative of the literalistic distortion that these clerics already apply to their own faith and now seek to apply to the Baha'i teachings in order to make the Baha'i Faith seem silly. But to any knowledgeable person, the only silliness is what is coming out of the minds of the abject and foolish, those who seek to aggrandize themselves and pretend wisdom while parading their ignorance.
