bilo,

I came from a Hindu background. For many years I grewu up with a strong prejudice against Islam. It was Baha'u'llah who instilled in me the love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (pbuH) and all the previous Messengers of Allah.
May the initiators of this site be blessed by the Almighty for their sincere efforts.

Ahmad,

I think it is you who is the deceptor. Perhaps you are in the pocket of some propaganda committee in Iran or Egypt. How do we know you are not some intelligence officer keeping an eye on people? Come on man, say something productive. All you speak is venom.

Bahais in My Backyard, watch it and then talk on behalf of the "rights" of this group of New World Order fascists who systematically deny it to others:

GIven the above, the policies of the Egyptian and Iranian governments towards this organization are sound and well implimented.

Bismillah,

Dear brother Ahmad,

It is apparent that you are uninformed. The Baha'i scriptures strictly forbid the Baha'is from engaging in surreptitious methods, partisan political activity, and the support of state politics of any nation. It would be totally anathema for any Baha'i institutions or individuals to falsely create a website such as this. That Muslims have done so is a credit to their understanding that Allah - may He be praised - is the merciful, filled with grace, the all-loving, just.

The reason for the Baha'i world center being in Israel is one of historic circumstance. The authorities of Iran and the Ottoman Empire exiled Baha'u'llah in 1868 to Akko in what was the province of "Syria." Do not some holy sites of Islam reside in Jerusalem?

The Holy Qur'an, in multiple translations, has an honored place on my shelves. I teach it to westerners who have rejected Islam because of what they see. May I suggest that you look at two books by Seyyed Hossein Nasr - "The Heart of Islam" and the forthcoming "The Garden of Truth." These explain, in a deeply spiritual and harmonious way, the spiritual essence of Islam.

"And so whenever there comes unto them any fresh reminder from thje Most Gracious, they who are blind of heart always turn their backs upon it." (26:5). "Fully aware are We of what they do say; and thou canst by no means force them to believe. Yet nonetheless, remind, through this Qur'an, all such as may fear My warning." (50:45). And "God is the light of the heavens and the earth" (24:35). He who has eyes to see will behold the divine light wherever it shines.

Salam.

Thomas,
Additionally, Egyptian Baha'is are being denied their ID cards and all their citizenship rights simply because of their religion...that did not deter them from affirming their belief even in the face of total isolation and their inability to obtain employment, education, health care, etc....

The Egyptian authorities have been trying, without any success, to force the Baha'is to lie about their religion on official documents (thus violating their own laws) in order to obtain ID cards!

To any rational-minded person, of any religious background--how can such divergent viewpoints and arduous persecution not compel an honest, forthright examination of this affair?

The Iranian government denies its persecution of Baha'is despite all evidence to the contrary. No record exists of Baha'is meeting this oppression with violence. It is remarkable--indeed unparalleled in modern history--that anyone would willingly and serenely accept death without struggle before renouncing their beliefs, yet it's happened repeatedly.

What does that say about the nature of these beliefs? What makes them worth dying for?

It is uncommon and nothing short of praiseworthy that Muslims now shed light on the atrocities taking place in Iran--abundant proof that we all strive the same thing: the truth, unfettered by veils of propoganda and discrimination. In the U.S., Muslims themselves have come under attack as terrorists--the sorrowful result of a few misguided souls--when the majority of Islam revere peace above all.

May God bless this initiative, and may it engender further compassion and understanding among the human race.
